What the Hell Are Our Priorities?
Social Squabbles or Nuclear War
Right now, there are two hot wars going on that are --more or less--on the radar screen. Israel/Palestine, where the area of Gaza looks very much like Dresden or Hiroshima or Tokyo or Stalingrad after they were bombed in WWII. Probably 200,000 people are dead or injured, and 2 million homeless. And Ukraine, where the war there started in 2014 with the overthrow of the democratically elected president, which resulted in the new government bombing its own people who didn't agree. Negotiations since then have been fruitless, with millions fleeing and over 500,000 dead on the battlefield.
Yet, domestic politics in the US shoves both of those off the table as serious issues for the November election. Bill Clinton said, "it's the economy, stupid", the main thing people are worried about. This year it's a bit different, where half the population despises the 'Rainbow' agenda, to put it politely. And the other half despises the first half for promoting their personality cult favorite leader whom they think will make the USA great (again as if it ever was as great as they thought).
FACT: Both parties have broken important nuclear arms control treaties, and put nuclear missiles on hair trigger alert for a nuclear war. With 10 minutes to decide if it's a real attack or just birds on a radar screen.
What the hell are our priorities? Will the social squabbling even matter if we're all reduced to radioactive dust?

Good one, Eric. Keep it up!
