Texas Under Fire

A Flashback to 2015, During the Real Ukraine War

Breaking Through Denial

I’m constantly surprised by the fact that most Americans still, to this day, don’t understand what the war in Ukraine is all about. To remedy that, I am reposting a video made in 2015—-2015! The narrator, Russell “Texas” Bentley, as I did, witnessed the US coup that overthrew the democratically elected government of Ukraine in 2014.

Ukrainian extreme right wing white supremacist nationalists, followers of the WWII Nazi collaborator, Stepan Bander, immediately started persecuting Russian speakers. As I just pointed out, a friend of mine who lives in Ukraine right now risks not just a fine, but physical violence for speaking Russian, even though at least half the population of Ukraine, which has historically been part of Russia, speaks Russian as their regular talk.

Russell explained it all in this video.

Rather than go into all the details of the criminality of US actions, its violation of numerous treaties and agreements with Russia, here is an eyewitness account of what happens to a typical neighborhood. As Russell said, “what if this were your neighborhood”?

Please share this video and post with your friends and relatives. Their eyes need to be opened to the use of our tax dollars (not just American, but Canadian, British, French, German and other European countries).

Russell and I made contact back then. He fought and put his life at grave risk as a soldier, and tragically, after he stopped fighting being over 60 years old, he became a journalist, and was killed during his journalistic efforts.

There are many minidocumentaries from those days, which I have posted elsewhere. However, they’re part of longer more comprehesive articles which maybe a little to long to digest.

So here is a brief 11 minute introduction. People must break out of ignorance and denial if this war is to be resolved. In any case, despite Western news stories to the contrary, Ukraine is pretty much finished. Half its prewar population has fled, probably 2 million killed, many involuntary conscripts. It is not likely to recover, ever.

For the US, it’s just another ‘military adventure’. If it loses, just start another. Any thing to keep the US Military Industrial Complex fat and happy.

This is the legacy of yet another catastrophe visited on a small country. Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Somalia, Yugoslavia, to name a few. The shame of it weighs heavily on me, so the least I can do is bear witness to it, and alert others. And now, as the US loses control abroad, it is directing its ire towards its own people. The war is coming home.

People are shocked by President Trump’s use of the military inside the USA against civilians. This is a violation of the doctrine of Posse Comitatus.

As Obama’s Pastor, Reverend Wright said, before Obama fired him for speaking the truth, “The chickens are coming home……..to roost”.

[When Bentley refers to “Ukrops”, he is talking about the Ukrainian army that was attacking its own people]
