From the beginning of the American Experiment, entrenched power and money interests has used social issues such as race, gender, abortion evolution and other religious ideas, in order to get the vast majority of the public to argue and fight each other. What we really need to be focussing on, both people with liberal leanings as well as conservative leanings, are wealth inequality and deteriorating social conditions at home, and endless war and militarism.
These are the real ‘life and death issues’ that all of us share. That ‘giant sucking sound’ that Ross Perot referred to in talking about good paying jobs leaving the US, is now the giant sucking sound of increasing debt taking money out of our pockets to further enrich the bankers and corporation.
